2020 Fall Garage Sale

Time to clean out your garages! McKendree Park’s Community Garage Sale for the fall season is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

In accordance with our Deed Restrictions, garage sales may be held twice a year: once in the spring season and once in the fall. Homeowners wishing to participate may hold a garage sale in their driveway on October 3.

Construction at the Pool

McKendree Park has contracted with Blue Ribbon Roofing to replace the roof at the pool building, as it was damaged during this year’s hail storm. A large dumpster was delivered on Saturday morning and we expect work to begin on Monday, August 31. The roof replacement is expected to be complete in 7-10 days. We ask that homeowners avoid the pool area and parking lot during this project.

2020 Pool Season

Due to the significant increase in COVID-19 infections, the Board of Directors has unanimously agreed to keep the pool closed for the 2020 season. This decision was made with the health and safety of the community in mind. We hope to reopen as scheduled in 2021.

Community Playground Closed

Dear Neighbors:

As the coronavirus situation continues to develop across our region, our goal is to prepare our community for the potential impact.

According to the experts, COVID-19 is especially aggressive with older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes. Experts indicate this group is at higher risk for developing more serious complications.

We have decided, out of an abundance of caution and care for our neighbors, to reduce the social activities in our community to support the current public health effort to protect those at risk.

To help prevent unnecessary person-to-person contact, and as a precautionary measure for our community, please be aware that we will be closing the McKendree Park Community Playground until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

This means any activities or parties previously reserved during this time will be canceled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Community Reminders for Pet Owners

Dear McKendree Park Residents:

Pets can be a wonderful addition to your family, but please remember that as a pet owner, you should make sure that your four-legged friend does not become a nuisance to other residents. McKendree Park is a pet-friendly community, but please take into account a few of these pet reminders:

• While walking your pets in our community, bring a baggie with you to pick up your pet’s waste and dispose of it at home. As a responsible pet owner, you must “pack the poop” home every time. Please do not use receptacles located at McKendree Park facilities. Trash receptacles are not emptied on a daily basis and quickly become foul smelling if loaded with dog poop.

• When your pet is not in an enclosed area, remember to keep your pet on a leash. A leash provides emergency control over your pet. Even if your dog has perfect recall and you can control their every move from 100 feet away, you can’t control the world around them. You may encounter unfriendly dogs, ground squirrels, or a person who is allergic or afraid of dogs.

2016 Winter Food Drive Update

We’re happy to announce that the 2016 Winter Food Drive was a great success. We collected 176lbs of food as well as several cash donations from homeowners. The Houston Food Bank was very grateful for our donations, and we look forward to another great event in the near future!
